Terms
Terms of Use
The terms for using Rill 0.1.0, a free, early release of a Mac browser from Manifold AI Inc.
About these terms
Rill is made by Manifold AI Inc. (“we”, “us”). These terms cover the Rill app for Mac, version 0.1.0 and the updates we publish for it, and this website. By downloading or using Rill, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Rill.
Your licence
We give you a free, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Rill on Macs you own or control, for your own use or your work. We keep all rights in Rill, its name, its logo and this website that these terms don’t give you.
Please don’t sell, rent or redistribute Rill, remove its notices, or present it as your own. Where the law allows you more than this licence does, you keep those rights.
An early release
Rill 0.1.0 is experimental. It may have bugs, change without notice, or stop working, and features may be added or removed.
Rill is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that it will keep your data safe. Keep backups of anything that matters, including your code.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Manifold AI Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or work, arising from your use of Rill or this website. Our total liability for any claim about Rill is limited to the greater of what you paid us for it (Rill is free, so usually nothing) and US$50.
Some places don’t allow these limits; where they don’t, they apply only as far as the law permits.
Acceptable use
Use Rill lawfully and respectfully. Please don’t use it, or the agents you run through it, to:
- break the law or other people’s rights, including privacy and intellectual property;
- access systems, accounts or data you aren’t allowed to;
- send spam, malware or harmful code, or attack websites and services;
- get around a website’s or service’s own terms or limits.
Your agents and other services
Rill works with services we don’t run: Claude Code and Anthropic, Codex and OpenAI, the websites you visit, and your search engine. Your use of each is governed by its own terms and privacy policy, and by the account you sign in with. We aren’t responsible for those services.
You are responsible for the agents you run through Rill and for what you allow them to do: the tasks you send, the projects they work in, the edits you allow, and the actions they take on websites. Review their changes before you rely on them.
Updates
We may publish new versions of Rill. These terms apply to them too, unless a version comes with its own terms. Rill checks rill.love for new versions, as the privacy page describes.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms as Rill grows. We’ll post the new version here with a new effective date, and for significant changes we’ll try to let you know in the app or on this site. If you keep using Rill after a change takes effect, the new terms apply. You can stop using Rill at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about these terms or Rill will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If the law where you live gives you rights these terms can’t take away, those rights still apply.
